McNeil-PPC Inc. and Johnson & Johnson have asked that all New Jersey state court Tylenol liver injury cases be centralized before one Judge in the Middlesex County Superior Court, in order to avoid duplicative discovery, inconsistent rulings, and to conserve resources of the judiciary and the parties. There are currently fourteen Tylenol cases pending in New Jersey […]
Approximately 574,000 bottles of Infants’ Tylenol Oral Suspension, are being recalled. The recall affects the grape flavor, 1oz. bottles of Tylenol Oral Suspension, and has been made as a precaution after receiving a small number of complaints from consumers who reported difficulty using the Infants’ Tylenol SimpleMeasure dosing system. SimpleMeasure includes a dosing syringe, which […]
When I was in elementary school, my best friend has asthma. I know this because he told me he had it. I never saw any symptoms, he was a great athlete with good endurance. Today, it seems like everyone and their brother has asthma. The street wisdom on why we have more asthma in 2011 […]
Tylenol is one of the most commonly used drugs in the United States. The active ingredient in Tylenol is a drug called acetaminophen. Acetaminophen-containing products such as Tylenol are used by more than 50 million Americans weekly to treat conditions such as pain, fever and the aches and pains associated with the common cold and […]
I wish Vegas had a line on things like: Johnson & Johnson will have another recall that almost makes them caricatures of themselves. With that intro, I give you another Tylenol recall. I’m repeating myself but Johnson & Johnson was a great company. You shouldn’t lose that status virtually overnight. (I’m using dog years to […]
Yesterday, the FDA posted a page on their website instructing consumers that the January 15, 2010 Tylenol recall has expanded once again. See the FDA’s notice for the affected lot numbers, but the products at issue (if you want to avoid them entirely while J&J sorts things out) is: Benadryl Allergy Ultratab Children’s Tylenol Meltaways […]
Yesterday, J&J reported yet another recall. This time, it’s four product lots of BENADRYL® ALLERGY ULTRATAB™ TABLETS, 100 Count, and one product lot of EXTRA STRENGTH TYLENOL® RAPID RELEASE GELS, 50 Count. This is an expansion of the recall related to the wood pallets and the musty smell associated with the medication. J&J reports that […]
The New York Times has a good article from yesterday about the standoff between J&J and the government. Apparently, they are both still accusing each other of not paying attention. Maybe it’s miscommunication, but I don’t think J&J is winning the public relations battle.
Nice comparison post by John Mack of the PharmaMarketing Blog: Parallels Between BP and J&J. John also gets kudos for his Bizarro reference (I would have invoked the parallel universe, but I still have to give credit where credit is due).
A number of reports and calls have come in regarding injuries related to Johnson & Johnson’s Tylenol (and other brands, see here) recall. The FDA is examining about 775 reports of side effects, including 30 deaths, potentially linked to the products. As the investigation proceeds, it appears that most of the 30 deaths have been […]
